Frequently Asked Questions

What do you guys do at your group meetings?

On Sundays from 4-6, we gather together in the youth room for some fun, get a chance to share about what's happening in our lives, enjoy some student led worship, and talk about issues that are relevant to high school life.
We also have a number of discussion groups that meet in various students homes in Evanston, Chicago, Skokie, and Morton Grove, where we have fun and discuss our varying beliefs and approaches to life.

Is this stuff just for church kids? What if I'm not a Christian?
We've had lots of people involved who aren't Christians. We encourage you to be yourself. Ask any quesion you want. Feel free to disagree.
Our hope is that this will be a pressure free environment where you can investigate what Christianity is all about.

Can parents come?
Any curious parent is welcome to come check us out in person.Parents can also call youth pastor Chris Herning at (847)328-4544 with any questions.

How is VisionQuest funded?
We are funded by donations made to the church, a non-profit organization.

How do I know this isn't some sort of cult?
Great question! There are a lot of weird groups out there. We try not to be one of them!We have a list of references in the community if you want to do some further research.
